Q: What did they have you doing?
A: I’m a social media marketing intern. Mainly, I get to work on social media profiles for clients with a Social Media Team and am going to learn about doing Search Engine Optimization as well.
Q: What was the environment like there?
A: The office is a great place to work! Everyone is extremely nice and the office is very open and encourages collaboration. You can tell that everyone is genuinely friends with their coworkers and they have all been welcoming and helpful to me and the other interns.
Q: What is something you learned?
A: The newest thing I am learning about is the SEO side of digital marketing. It is something you don’t think about often but is actually really important. I have also learned a lot about posting on social media for businesses and how different it can be from posting for personal use. It is very interesting!
Q: Is there anything you wish you had known before taking the job?
A: I don’t think there is anything I wish I had known before taking the job. It was easy to get a feel for the environment and employees from my interview, and it has all been a great experience so far.
Q: Do you have any tips for college students who are looking for internships/jobs?
A: I think the most important thing is to not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try new things as far as jobs and internships. Getting an internship can give you invaluable knowledge and experience that you won’t necessarily learn in classes. Networking opportunities are also extremely helpful for future jobs.
